Yep, I know what you are thinking, and nope, I don't believe it either!!....
I am a finalist in the Sketch Saturday DT call!!!.... How mad is that??
Okay, I'll be honest, on the day I entered I was having one of those ' I can do anything I set my mind to' days (we all have them right?) ... and then the following day I thought...ahhhh what have I done? so I thought I'd just keep it quiet and hope nobody noticed.... lol!
I never for a second thought I'd make the final cut!!! (I mean have you seen the other 11!?!)
Ladies, you have no idea how much this means... THANKYOU!!

So... for the second part of the call, we have to pick a sketch from the last 3 months, and create something using it....

Whiff of joy Challenge *48*

Well this is the very first time I've joined in on the Whiff of Joy challenge.... I felt like stretching myself today... and this sketch was well out of my comfort zone!! I wouldn't normally use this many layers on a card.... but I did enjoy this.... and managed to use some papers that perhaps I wouldn't have used up otherwise, some of the papers from the basic grey junebug stack are a little too bold!! but slotted in behind others they work really well ....
anyway this is my effort...

stuff:
coloured with promarkers
Basic grey junebug papers
flowers making memories/american crafts
Rest from stash
Handwritten sentiment

Sketch Saturday 69 ~ Gorjuss in silver

Hi again... back for another post today!!!
Hubby and my little fella both went to bed early tonight, so I had chance to craft...yippeeee!!
Heres my entry for this weeks Sketch Saturday.... my heart always sinks everytime I pop over and the sketch has an oval shape in it.... I dont have anything to cut ovals!! :(
HOWEVER...I had an ingenious solution today.... we had some old photos out on the desk that we had been showing to my son... of me when I was at school.... arggghhhh... well you know how all the old school photos came in those brown cardboard frames?? one of them had an oval shape cut out..... whooohoo!! so out comes the photo, in slips gorjuss.... draw round the edge... et voila!!
I amaze myself sometimes.... lol!!
I was going to show you the photo but.... well ....no!
anyway, enough waffle heres my card...... You can't see it very well, but I've painted her dress silver.....

You can just about make it out on a close up....

Stuff:
Stamp: Just a girl
Coloured with promarkers and silver paint
Papers Bo bunny and BG
X cut flower punch
craftwork cards candy
handwritten sentiment

Sugar Bowl ~ Marlenes sketch (Pink and Brown)

Over at the Sugar bowl there is an awesome sketch to follow from Marlene. With the 'please include' option of PINK and BROWN.....
I couldn't wait to ink up my new 'Miss Clause' Stamp......aint she gorgeous?? I bought this without my hubby's knowledge, and 'Mr Stocking' also fell into my basket too.... I managed to keep it a secret for 2 days!! but this morning I just had to tell him.... he probably would never have found out....but still....
right.... the card....
I probably havent used as much brown as is required for the challenge, but I'm keeping everything crossed..... I had loads of scraps on my desk from an earlier card, and just thought the green worked so well.....
This is a different style of card for me.... I think I'm having an 'experimental' day....

Stuff:
Miss Clause ~Sugar Nellie
promarkers and colouring pencils
BG sugared papers / DCWV oldworld papers
Snowflake punch / X cut Circle cutter
rest from stash
Pop over to the Sugar Bowl for some amazing inspiration from the fabulous Design Team....

Sketch Saturday #68 falling in love again!

Hi!
Heres my entry for this weeks Sketch Saturday... I loved this sketch but I did struggle a bit with the elements down the left hand side... I tried, flowers, buttons, brads.... but everything just looked plonked! like they didnt really flow with the card......

I decided in the end, to punch circles out of the same paper as the background, and then just doodled on them, and raised some of them to make them stand out...... I'm not totally happy with it, but it definately fits together better than anything else I tried.....
The card is for my hubby for our 10th Anniversary.
And I've been so good lately, I'm sure I'm the same as everyone else when I say that there are so many new stamps coming out to fall in love with, and my wish list is getting longer everyday.... but I thought it was about time I played with some of the stamps I fell in love with a long time ago and have probably only used once!! so I inked up this Rachelle anne Miller beauty!!
Image Stampavie coloured with promarkers
Papers Basic grey Eva
Ribbon American crafts

Sketch Saturday COCO'S Sketch....

Over at Sketch Saturday COCO has done a really unusual sketch.... I like them when they are a little bit more tricky... its more fun that way...THANKS COCO xxxx
I rotated the sketch, and went for a NOT square card, which is very unlike me!!......
Here's my entry.....
And a close up....

Image whiff of Joy Willow with basket
Coloured with promarkers and colouring pencils
Papers BG 'Eva'
Sentiment cuddly buddly
rest from stash...
Doodles around image...my own hand...

I'd like to give a huge 'congratulations' hug to Sketch Saturdays guest designer for September Emma lockley ...you SO deserve it hun!! woohooo!!!
I hold Emma entirely responsible for getting me into blogging, and Emma has become such a Fab Friend.....
Emma has given me this award......

Thank you SO much Emma!!!!

Now, the rules are something like this..... (I've forgotten, and I can't be bothered to go back and look...LOL!!)

  1. Show the award on your blog and link the person who awarded it to you (check, did that earlier!)
  2. list 5 things you like to do
  3. pass the award on to 10 people (or as many as you like)

I'm really rubbish with awards and never follow the rules properly, but I'll do my best......

The five things I like to do are: (not neccesarily in this order!)

  1. Craft!...really, could I have said anything else?
  2. Draw/paint..... You'll more often than not see doodles in my card making attempts...
  3. Sing...lol...really, i sing all day while i'm crafting..... I'm not sure I'm any good!
  4. Blog... I've made some true friends through blogging, and I love every minute of it!
  5. Cook...although my hubby won't leave me to it, so I get fed up (he used to be a chef and thinks he knows best.....)

I figured spending time with my family was obvious... so didnt include that!

I really hate passing on these awards because I hate to leave people out..... I would pass it on to everybody!!!

so, as it says 'as many as i like' I'm cheating and passing it back to Emma...... I wouldn't even be typing this now if it werent for you hun, and you know how much I have to thank you for without me needing to say it....

Right, thats me I think.........

Thanks for visiting!!!

Sketch and Stash goes glittery and girly....

Heres my entry for 2 challenges..... Sketch and Stash and Passion for Promarkers
There is another amazing sketch to follow over on sketch and stash... and Becky.... you will be so proud of me.... I've used up loads of neglected stash.... the papers were all bits of old 12 x 12 papers that were in a big box in the back of a cupboard.... along with the glitter card... I'm not normally a fan of glitter, but thought as it fit with the theme at passion for promarkers, that would come in handy too....
and I've had the large brads for an age......
The box of scraps is staying out and I'm made a promise to use it up....... so watch this space!!
Passion for promarkers asked for girly and glittery.... I thought this was a perfect opportunity to make a 4th Birthday card for my niece ready for next month....
heres my card...

and a lil close up...

I love this cutie so much!!! She's called Kiki La Rue and its Rias fault I had to buy her...
Image ~ Kiki La Rue all that scraps
coloured with ~ promarkers
Papers ~ scraps from stash
Brads ~making memories
Flowers~ prima (got prints)
No '4' hand cut... sentiment and doodles...my own fair hand...
