Whiff of Joy and Sugar Bowl Challenges

Good Evening all!!

Another couple of cards to share with you... and yep, they are Christmas ones!

First up is my entry into this weeks WHIFF OF JOY challenge.

Margas sketch is fantastic.... but I tried to be a bit too clever with it, and I'm not entirely sure i've pulled it off! the more I tried to fix it the more I strayed from the layout! but I'm using 'artistic licence' on this one, and if you squint your eyes a bit the sketch is there!! I promise!

Heres my card....

I've again used this beautiful stamp in a different way to make it fit christmas.... I love how it looks like she is catching the snowflake...

Next is my entry for the current Sugar bowl challenge which is another amazing sketch from Lilian.

There is a 'please include' option which is to use your favourite colour... now the trickiest part of this challenge was deciding on my favourite colour!!

I do love to use brown alot...and I'm always out of Brown papers before anything else, so I think its brown!!

I teamed it with red to make it a little more christmassy....

Merry and Bright... some Christmas colour....

Well I think I'm on a roll!!!..... another 2 Christmas cards made!! WOOHOOOO!!! Been trying to use up some paper scraps and am getting a bit sick of using reds and greens, so although these cards do have traditional colours in them, Ive tried to go for bright, different colours....

MAWTT Challenge Heidis sketch and hidden elements...

Over at Moving along with the times this week there is a fabulous sketch from Heidi... who also wants to see hidden elements in your project....
I've never done anything like this on a card before, so thought I'd give it a go.....
Heres my card with everything closed up and hidden......

And here it is with the little suprise sentiment opened out.....

I'm actually quite pleased with this card.... I hope My MIL and FIL are too!!.....

The hidden element has worked quite well, because I'm not really sure how I would have fit the sentiment on otherwise.... this way it will fit in the envelope lovely with the sentiment put away, and can be left out when on display....

Sketch Saturday #79... oh I do need to make more Xmas cards....

Morning everyone!!
Wow its not long now till the big day!!! and I have literally nothing done ready!!.... not a single present bought.... and about a Zillion cards to make....!! So you'd think I'd be trying to make as many Christmas cards as I possibly can, and avioding making cards that I don't have a real use for yet...... WRONG!! There are certain stamps that I just love to play with all the time... and this is one of them.... I did try to colour it in reds and greens with the hope of using it for Christmas, but it wasn't quite right.... so I have another card to add to my ever growing pile of 'Cards I might use one day' and no more Christmas Cards made:( ....BUT, I did have a little DIGI spree yesterday, so hopefully will have some lovely festive cardage offerings later.....

right, I'm waffling.... here is my DT card for this weeks Sketch Saturday.... got to be honest and say that this sketch did throw me a little... not sure why.... still I'm pleased with the result, and my hubby said.... and I quote ' its your best card yet!!' not sure what he's after, but still..... I normally just get a grunt if I ask his opinion on a card, so I think we are making progress!!.....

Good Morning!!
Its Saturday again which means its time for another Sketch from Sketch Saturday!!! Jo has come up trumps again this week..... I love this sketch, I really like the ones with lots of different elements....

Sugar Bowl... Judys Sketch

Good Morning!!! I know it is unbelievable.... I'm here 4 days in a row!!! that must be some sort of a record!!
Trouble is my MOJO is still only visiting occasionally, so I have to make the most of it when I'm feeling it....
So I'm a bit 'all or nothing' at the moment...
I do always like to enter the Sugar Bowl challenge as often as I can ... and I'm running really late with this one.....
Judy has supplied a gorgeous Sketch to use..... it really is so great to work with....

I had all my 'Orangey' scraps out when I was putting my henry card together ...(see post below...) so thought why not keep 'em out and make something else...... threw a bit of pink and red in too....
I SO Love my Leanne Ellis stamps..... and really want all the new Christmas ones... but I fear I wont get chance to make good use of them before the big day...... I HATE it when I've got my sensible head on!! but.......I might be able to justify ONE.... that I could make fit other occasions..... hmmmmm.... LOL!

Whoohoooo... three posts in three days.... how about that?..
Really wanted to enter the Whiff of Joy challenge which this time is to use the Colours Orange, Brown and Ivory... I think its an awesome colour combination... I love using orange!!
I hope this can also work for the Spoonful of Sugar challenge where they want to see you 'create a scene' I think I've kind of created a little 'Henry skating down a snow slope' scene??

Snowflakes for Cute Card Thursday

Hey.... another post this week... see, I kept my promise....
I've made a card to enter into the current Cute Card Thursday Challenge.... which is 'Glitter me silly'.... if you click to enlarge the image, you can just about make out the glitter on the snowflake.. and the word 'snowflake' has been cut using glitter card....

I just had to have this Whiff of Joy stamp.... I think its so beautiful... but didnt think when I bought her that she is really meant to be for Autumn, and I wasn't really likely to make all that many Autumn themed cards... never the less she made it into my shopping basket....
'LIGHTBULB MOMENT!!!' as soon as I stamped her I had the idea that I could replace the leaves she was 'catching' with a snowflake!!!..... and now I can use her for Christmas cards!! 'well done me!' I also had to 'remove' the hat that she had on her back....
Isn't she just so stunning... I think she is my Favourite stamp....

Sketch Saturday #75 Happy halloween!!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!!!
I'm up SO late this morning..... slept like a log!! my hubby left for work at 5 this morning, and I didnt notice he'd gone till about 8!! and let me tell you he is NOT quiet in a morning!!
Anyhoo now I've got to rush to catch up on a million and one things before the pumpkin carving I promised I'd do.....
good news is I'm off out tonight, so hubby can cope with all the lovely trick or treaters!! ha ha!!
If they are anything like last years I think he'd be better just turning all the lights out and pretending not to be in.....
we had this one group that came round, it was quite early in the night so we had plenty of mini sweet bags to go round..... then about an hour later they came back.... well by this time we'd had a few other 'visitors' so all we'd got left was crisps..... off they trotted a bit disgruntled but I suppose crisps was better than nothing.....
bugger me if they didnt come back AGAIN a bit later...well we'd got nothing by this time... so we very politely explained that they had already been twice, and that we really didnt have anything to offer them..... they wandered off mumbling to themselves, and we closed the door...... next thing we know half a dozen eggs have been hurled at the living room window!!!!! can you believe that!!!! little ****s !!
Trouble is my Son loves halloween, and we have to carve pumpkins and put them in the window EVERY year, and he stands there and waits for the trick or treaters!!!
any hoo.... as I said i'm off out..... hee hee!!
Sorry about the waffle..... lol!!

Managed to join in with a couple more challenges (yey me!) First up is Secret Crafter who have asked for Orange and one other colour.... I chose Brown. This card also fits with the Stamptacular Sunday challenge 'it's Fall ya'll'.... Colour create challenge ALL WHITE!!

Hiya!!
Well here I am with the card I promised on saturday... it has taken me till now to photograph it!!
Have you ever tried to photograph a white card!!! OMG! I tried every conceivable setting on my camera, every spot in the house..... you name it I did it..... and still its awful... but at least you can actually see what its meant to be.....
this is my entry for this weeks colour create challenge which is a challenge to create an entirely white card (image colours excepted) I knew straight away that I had to join in... I like the tricky ones!!!

Morning all....
Sorry I've not posted anything for a week.... I've only gone and lost my mojo!!!.... checked everywhere, down the back of the sofa, and the washing machine.... the works!! but to no avail....
I'm so annoyed with myself, cos I just can't get motivated to craft!! bit of a bugger when I now have DT cards to make!!....

To create the background I used just the flowers from the Sugar Nellie 'Blossom' Stamp, and stamped them randomly in a line.... then drew a few bits of 'grass' with a promarker.... the edges were creating by using a scrap bit of paper that I'd punched a leaf out of as a stencil... and then added a few dots with a red promarker....

Hi All!!...

Well, me and my Son have both got up today with bad stomachs... so he's lying on the sofa with his emergency quilt ( lol... he's always called it that)...
and I'm running around fetching drinks, and passing him his book, and nintendo DS... passing the remote control.....etc etc.... I'm managing to 'ignore' my ailments for now, but I dont think it will last....

To mark the 'occasion' I've made a virtual card to say 'HI' to everybody over at Sketch Saturday.... (old and new)
and....I've even given her my hair colour!!
